Diabetes has become a common disease but people with it have to be very careful in their diet.
According to Indian NDTV, immediately after the diagnosis of diabetes, the patient has to change his lifestyle completely and adopt healthy habits which do not include only the idea of food.
Getting your life back on track is definitely a difficult step, and for diabetics it is no less than a test.
Nutritionist Anjali Mukherjee says that the only goal of diabetics should be to somehow control their sugar levels.
“Although there is no diet formula that works for everyone, there are some things to keep in mind,” he said.
Adding fiber to the diet
Everyone with diabetes should try to get as much fiber in their diet as possible. Items that are high in fiber include commodities, pulses, nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables.
Proper use of carbohydrates
In diabetics, carbohydrates can lower blood sugar levels. That is why such patients are advised to consume a certain amount of carbohydrates on a daily basis.
Eat more from time to time
There must be a change in eating habits and times. Some people will, of course, have a habit of eating only once a day, but instead of eating three times a day, eat four to five times, but little by little.
Choosing a low-sugar diet
Diabetics are advised to stay away from sweets as well but fruits can be supplemented with sweets. There is nothing wrong with eating small amounts of berries, strawberries, pomegranates, guavas and berries.
Use of sprout vegetables
Sprouts should be used on a daily basis. It contains some essential nutrients that are extremely beneficial for the body.
Get in the habit of exercising
Exercising 30 to 40 minutes a day should be part of your lifestyle. It is as important as eating or sleeping.
